Gabrielle A. Rosa – Owner & Founder
As a child growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Gabrielle Rosa could typically be found in the company of animals. She was usually found running with her dog in the sprinklers or chasing the cat around with a video camera. In doing so, she had unwittingly found her calling.
In high school, she moved to San Francisco with her mother and started a successful trap/neuter/release program, altering and caring for over 30 cats for close to a decade.
After receiving a BA in creative writing, her interest in veterinary medicine emerged when she nursed both her cat and dog through terrible illnesses. Caring for them sparked a desire to help all animals in a professional, loving manner. Within weeks, she enrolled at Foothill College to earn her Associates of Science in Veterinary Technology. For several years, she practiced as a Registered Veterinary Technician in both general practice and emergency medicine throughout the Bay Area.
While working as a technician was rewarding, Dr. Rosa was ready to tackle academia again and deepen her knowledge. She packed up her cats and headed to Southern California to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. She spent the next five years practicing general, emergency, and street medicine. Her experiences as both a technician and veterinarian contributed to her goal of enhancing the quality of life of every patient. As a result, she discovered Integrative Medicine and subsequently earned her certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture from CuraCore Academy in Colorado.
As an Integrative Veterinary Medical practitioner, Dr. Rosa focuses on relieving pain and discomfort by neuromodulation and myofascial manipulation. Her whole-animal medical approach includes acupuncture, massage, laser therapy as well as various integrative rehabilitation and physical medicine exercises.
When not working, Dr. Rosa enjoys reading, writing, and music. And, on occasion, running in the sprinklers with her dog and chasing her cats around with a video camera.
